‘Enter the PORTAL_00’ is the digital component of a cross-disciplinary virtual reality and live theatrical installation: the ‘PORTAL_00’. Made in collaboration with digital artist Charles Harrop-Griffiths, the 3 week research and development project was designed and developed alongside it’s creation. The ’PORTAL_00’ was first showcased at Boomtown Fair Festival (Winchester, 2016) PORTAL_00: Datamosh 1 is an experiment with datamoshing as a creative methodology – datamoshing involves the corruption of the code of an image or video to create an entirely new visual based upon an original file.
