Gazell.io is the digital art arm of Gazelli Art House based in in the Lower Ground Floor of 39 Dover Street, London. Gazell.io comprises of a physical exhibition programme showcasing a digital artist every six weeks, a monthly online residency programme, NFT initiatives and collaborations, and a permanent VR art gallery. Launched in 2015, GAZELL.IO began as a unique initiative offering digital, VR and AR artists the four-week online residency which features complete creative control of the virtual gallery space in which they can code their online universe, showcase their artistic journey and directly interact with their audience.
Gazelli Art House’s digital platform encapsulates the gallery’s commitment to digital art, education and interactivity. In its strive to connect the virtual and physical spaces, since 2016 the gallery started hosting annual exhibitions titled 'Enter Through the Headset' – displaying select previous Gazell.io residents working solely in virtual reality. For the rest of the year, gallery visitors are able to witness monthly residencies in the allocated alcove through a headset or tablet. Gazell.io has recently opened a permanent VR library located in the project space showcasing past residents VR and digital works. Visitors can book here to see over 15 different VR artworks in the project space.
The platform aims to host both pioneers of digital art as well as a new generation of artists, who are interested in experimenting and developing alternative mediums of art.
