About The Artwork

Nierka is a multidisciplinary performance influenced by Wassily Kandinsky’s ‘The Yellow Sound’ and the theatre philosophies from renowned Directors Richard Artaud and Gordon Craig.

Nierka, originates from my indigenous Mexican Huichol roots, referring to the exact moment in which power blossoms. In this piece, music replaces script, creating a highly sensual and imitate story, provoking the audience to experience individual audio and visual interpretations. The multidisciplinary aspect of the show with the combination of many artforms (dance, rock, orchestra, djs, soprano, children’s choir, live artists, puppetiers, video, lighting and many more) is something that took me over five years to create and put together. This is also the first show in history, to use tracking in real time.
