GAZELL.iO is pleased to welcome Adesola Yusuf (Arclight.jpg) as our March Artist in Residence.
"My works take inspiration from highly detailed renaissance art, the Baroque and Rococo overly ornate art movement to modern minimalist, pop & internet art. My work lives in the digital and physical realm; it's a fluid art process. The result can be rendered digitally or physically with acrylic, pastel, charcoal pencil, collage on canvas. I'd describe the visual expressive form of my art as the amalgamation of interests I've had over the past years. I've harboured an interest in photography, digital illustration, collage & digital collage, digital painting, and traditional painting. With this, I've dabbled in them individually but eventually brought them together to create a cohesive form, which you can experience today in my work.
I'd describe my work as a soliloquy detailed with vibrant and contrasting colours to give a peek into my interaction with my immediate environment. My work establishes my appeal for self-awareness using art as a medium to archive the experience of one's personality or individuality and the effect of socio-political issues in my daily life and that of the people around me."
